This site, irinasafonoff.com, is the personal website of Irina Safonova, based in Helsinki, Finland. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), I am the data controller for any personal data collected through it.

If you use the chat on this site, your messages are sent to Anthropic's API (Claude) to generate a reply. This is done on the basis of my legitimate interest in offering an interactive way to answer questions about my work.
Your messages are not stored in a database or file on my side — the chat function forwards the last few messages of your conversation to Anthropic and returns the reply, without saving it anywhere. Your IP address is briefly kept in memory (not on disk) purely to prevent spam, capping how many messages can be sent per minute; this is cleared automatically and is never linked to your conversation content.

The "Discuss a business problem" link uses Microsoft Outlook Bookings. If you book time through it, the information you provide (name, email, and anything you write in the booking form) is collected and processed by Microsoft on my behalf, tied to my Microsoft 365 account. I only see what's needed to conduct the call.

If you email me directly (including via the "mailto" links on this site), I receive and store that correspondence like any normal business email, for as long as reasonably needed to respond and keep a record of the conversation.
This site is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel's infrastructure automatically logs basic technical data for every visit (e.g. IP address, browser type, request timing) to operate and secure the service. I don't access this data individually; it's covered by Vercel's Privacy Policy.
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages get visited and roughly how. It doesn't use cookies — visitors aren't tracked with a persistent identifier, and the data (page views, referrers, approximate location, device and browser type) is anonymized and aggregated, not tied to you individually. Visitor session data is automatically discarded after 24 hours.
